January Book Recommendations

For most, the new year comes with goal setting, forming new habits and being a better you (either professionally or personally). Kicking off 2019, I’ve recently read (or listened to) two books that inspired me both personally and professionally… they actually inspired this whole website! I’d highly recommend either book for marketers seeking a fresh perspective or anyone ready to tackle new goals and create change.

You are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life

By Jen Sincero

From a personal development perspective, You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life by Jen Sincero, is a great book to kick off 2019. No matter your goals, her light humor, realistic perspective, and comments on belief systems will inspire you to finally stop limiting yourself and go after your dreams (especially the big ones). I enjoyed it so much, I quickly purchased You Are a Badass at Making Money which I’m nearly done with (although I haven’t loved it quite as much). That said, I also have You Are a Badass Every Day queued up next in my Audible app. Jen Sincero has found a new fan.

This Is Marketing: You Can’t Be Seen Until You Learn to See

by Seth Godin

I’ve read a LOT of Seth Godin books, but this one might be my favorite yet. This is Marketing: You Can’t Be Seen Until You Learn to See is hands-down one of the best marketing books I’ve read in a very long time. Recently released, its content is relevant for marketers in 2019… addressing challenges we face in digital and and traditional marketing with real-world, current examples of success and failures. It is both inspiring and practical advice for spreading ideas and creating change whether you’re marketing a product, a cause, or yourself.
